Tōdai: a route the lighthouses count

Tōdai is Japanese for lighthouse, and one of the three logic puzzles at Tabi Puzzles. Every one is made by hand and checked by a solver to have exactly one solution, found by reasoning alone.

Like Light Up (Akari) or Slitherlink: one route through the grid, and lighthouses whose numbers count how much of it their light falls on.

The rules

  • Find the one route from the entrance to the harbour . It steps up, down, left and right, never crosses a wall, never enters a void, a mirror or a lighthouse, and never visits a square twice.entrancewallvoid港a line
  • A lighthouse shines four beams, up, down, left and right. A beam turns a corner at a mirror — both faces reflect — and stops at a wall, a void, the edge of the board or another lighthouse. A mirror can turn more than one beam, also a beam that another mirror has already turned.2lighthouse1mirror
  • Its number is how many route squares its light falls on. The entrance and the count, and a square lit twice counts once. Tap a lighthouse to see its light.3港lit: 3
