Like Light Up? Try Tōdai
Light Up, also called Akari, is about light running along a row or a column until something stops it. Tōdai turns that around. The lighthouses are already on the board, shining their four beams, and you draw a route from the entrance to the harbour. Each lighthouse's number says how many of the route's squares fall in its light.

What you already know
- Light in straight lines. A beam runs up, down, left or right until it reaches a wall, a void, the edge of the board or another lighthouse, so you read the board along its rows and columns.
- Numbers that count. A clue is an exact count, and the logic is fitting that count to the squares that can still take it.
- No guessing. One solution, found by reasoning alone.
What is new
- You draw a route, not bulbs. One route from the entrance to the harbour, never visiting a square twice, so the lit squares have to join up too.
- Mirrors turn a beam round a corner, and both faces reflect, so a lighthouse can reach squares well outside its own row and column.
- The count is of route squares, not of neighbours: a 0 keeps the route out of a lighthouse's light altogether.
The rules of Tōdai
- Find the one route from the entrance to the harbour 港. It steps up, down, left and right, never crosses a wall, never enters a void, a mirror or a lighthouse, and never visits a square twice.entrancewallvoida line
- A lighthouse shines four beams, up, down, left and right. A beam turns a corner at a mirror — both faces reflect — and stops at a wall, a void, the edge of the board or another lighthouse. A mirror can turn more than one beam, also a beam that another mirror has already turned.lighthousemirror
- Its number is how many route squares its light falls on. The entrance and the 港 count, and a square lit twice counts once. Tap a lighthouse to see its light.lit: 3
